My final project then led to the creation of subversive business cards based on engravings from the Deberny & Peignot type foundry. While seemingly promoting goods or services, these cards subvert the implicit advertising discourse that underpins consumer society. Through photomontages combining engravings and typography, they seek to challenge this system by evoking our world shaped by the aesthetic of 19th-century calling cards.
