Dumb Type is a multidisciplinary arts collective founded in 1984 in Kyoto, Japan. Composed of artists working across dance, theatre, music, video, and the visual arts, the collective defines itself as non-hierarchical. The challenge was to convey the energy of a studio renowned for its contribution to contemporary art and its ever-evolving roster of artists, through meaningful editorial choices.
