Entitled “Solar,” this wip typeface explores the notion of white space as a brightening tool, questioning to what extent resistance to overexposure and solarization can be used to understand how the brain perceives movement through light contrast. It oscillates between light and dark areas, creating a moment of suspension between doubt and identification. I design up to five weights, from wide to condensed by imagining light as an active agent of differentiation that shapes the font.
